In 2018 when I first met Human Design and was introduced to types, strategies, centers, profiles and the like - I thought, wow, okay, I have my work cut out for me if I want to understand this tool that has so accurately described me.
And then, I learned about Gates, and the six degrees of definition. Wow didn’t exactly describe it anymore.
So, what you will discover in this work is what “work in progress” looks like.
I add Gates, Channels and all other HD resources as I move through sharing them in my work.
Having a line 1 in my Profile.. I never feel I know everything I want to know. There is always more.
And with the 5 line, and many other parts of my chart as a Manifestor, I get to share - to initiate your interest in knowing yourself.

When I first began to understand my HD chart I was not enamored. And the more I dove into it, the less enamored I became.
Since this is about Gates, I’ll explain. The top four numbers (two in each column) have the greatest impact. The first number represents your Sun, which is what you are here to share. The second number is your Earth, what you are meant to be grounded in.
But first - a brief description of the two sets of columns. Your Personality is the right side column (what you are conscious of and can most relate to).
Your Design is shown in the left side column (these are the aspects/traits/characteristic - parts - of you that you cannot see, but others can).
So…
On first read, my conscious Sun is Gate 64, The Gate of Confusion. My conscious Earth is Gate 63, The Gate of Self Doubt. Super! So, I am here to share confusion before completion and self doubt after completion - on the conscious side. On the Design or unconscious side, upon first read, Gate 45 The Gatherer, sometimes referred to as The Ruler, and my Design Earth’s sub name is. the Egoist.
How delightful... I am a confused Ruler before completion with egocentric self doubt after completion... Let’s go troops! Over the hill!

TO THE GATES
This is where diving into the nuances and connections of your chart become vital.
All things in life operate on a Spectrum. The lines after the decimal point show you the spectrum.
The line numbers become as important as the number itself. What I learned explained struggles I had experienced, why I did what I did, and still do what I do and why it seemed beyond comprehension. The western concept - just do it, just change it... often brings shame when we try and try and just can’t seem to “DO IT.”
My chart indicates that confusion isn’t about resting in indecision, but rather acceptance that my mind will be open to millions of ideas. When I allow this sifting process, I can have grace with the confusion to move into the gift of seeing so much. Using my Splenic authority to weed through them - I have the promise of selecting the most perfect one.
The self doubt in my earth is much the same - when I am unshaken because I don’t know or I am not certain, which means I do not let the words or actions of others - energy I absorb - decide what I should do I receive affirmation of the best step for me.
And this is true of my design as well - I am here to canvass - in generosity - gather those
of like mind, who are interested in learning what I know through a lifetime of experience; appreciating who comes into my life, the experiences offered and being open to what could be when I do not fear leading and do so with humility and love.
